              <text>&lt;span data-contrast="auto"&gt;Mary Devlin Booth writes to Emma Cushman about her health, exercise, her baby, their life in London, their cottage, her request for news of Boston, and other matters.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; Mary Booth mentions her&amp;nbsp; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span data-contrast="auto"&gt;precious friendship with Charlotte Cushman and her deep sympathy&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; for the actress. Mary mentions Emma's &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span data-contrast="auto"&gt;"misfortune last spring" (page 2). Apparently, Emma asked Mary what to expect when giving birth&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt; in a former letter. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span data-contrast="auto"&gt;Mary recommends outdoor exercise, tells Emma about problems with her breasts since she was not able to nurse her daughter.
