On the cover of its inaugural issue, the magazine describes itself as "a&lt;span&gt; repository of fashion, pleasure, and instruction."&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Inspired by the Berlin magazine &lt;em&gt;Der Bazar&lt;/em&gt;, the magazine features the latest fashion trends, fictional writing as well as articles on social etiquette, culture, and politics.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;em data-redactor-tag="em" data-verified="redactor"&gt;Harper's Bazaar&lt;/em&gt; is considered one of the first mainstream publications to endorse the women's suffrage movement and regularly runs articles on women's educational rights and work opportunities for women.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The magazine's first editor is Mary Louise Booth, who has been one of the first female reporters for &lt;em&gt;The New York Times&lt;/em&gt; and is a women's rights advocate.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;William Hearst purchases the magazine in 1913.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span&gt;The included files only serve as an example illustration of the magazine.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
