Will you get the accompanying article inserted in the "Transcript" as soon as possible.— I send the first story for the Juvenile. The others will not be quite as long but there are eight of them. So you can calculate about the size of the book.— I think there should be an illustration for every story. as a paragraph page. a leaf of light yellow paper. I hope you will have a good designer and engrave, for children like those things done up brown [?]. I should say that the
[page 2] subject for the first story would be taken from the first page. the woman giving me the kitten. Let the designer see the papage [sic]. I will send up the other stories soon. or subjects for illustration. I have a preface to the book which will take away the abruptness of the commencement
