here is Daniels' ineffably conceited letter—I read it as "pur" agreement. The church bells are ringing & the elect are going to church – I have been taking tea with Sarah Nixon I ran over after lessons & after paying a call on the "soldier's" sister my neighbor Mrs Hawthorne (whose brother by the way I invited through her to come to see
[page 2] me)—I gave your regrets to Sarah She was just going in to tea & took me in forcibly—Strawberries & cream, grass butter &c:—I saw the bride elect and had a cosy visit & pleasant chat Mollie Bowen plays the "+++cordati" marvellously well. & the Sonate & Funeral March has improved more than I can tell you I gave three lessons this afternoon have written a note to
[page 3] my gas affinity and am now enclosing you yours from your musical affinity—About ten
Frank will pop in we shall talk you & Mr R. over tenderly comfort each other & theng part
I had a nice long good letter from Charlotte Cushman to day unaffacted and natural & will bring it up when I came give my love to the girls I shall have to be in town next Monday if at all possible. You shall hear from me however
[page 4] again before I come—Give my regards to Mr Reakirt[?]—I shall fetch his grasses & fairy lances with me – Tell him I set the tea table in a roar to night describing the scene of yesterday with Mr Nicholston[?] & the murdered chicken I am very glad it occurred for it gives me a droll story to a-use my visitors with Write soon and love always your
