"The Chestnut street Theatre was re-opened last evening, under the management of Mr. Marshall, and with an excellent company. - The interior of the house presents a beautiful appearance. Charlotte Cushman, the best actress in the country, has been engaged as acting Manager and principal actress. She has troops of friends and admirers. Miss S. Cushman, Miss A. Fisher, Mr. J.M. Field, Mrs Thayer, and several other well known performers, are attached to the Company. Mr. Marshall is one of the most popular Managers that we have ever had in Philadelphia, and he is determined  to exert himself to the utmost to afford satisfaction to the friends of the drama."
