Acknowledging receipt of your note of the 14". I reply in the affirmative to your request on behalf of the American Dramatic Fund [?]. naming Sunday Evening 27" +++ — as the occasion. reserving to myself the right to claim from you that the fact shall not be announced to the public, until after the night of the 22d +++ — giving you full five days for advertisement. You ask for one of my "greatest personations". to me — my children are all alike, however +++ or sickly, or strong or healthy. I am unfortunately only provided with costumes

I supposed that Lady Macbeth & Meg Merrilees would cover sufficient ground for this purpose – Therefore you must choose between them. I hope the receipt may be as good as it was before - & that some of my [inserted] professional +++ who gave their services at my Phila & Boston "Benefits for the Sanitary Commission" may be served & helped in the future. by this result of my professional labour & willingness to aid them – With sentiments of esteem
