Description

Jewsbury writes to Cushman to seemingly follow up on a visit and some unfinished orders Cushman had asked her to take care of. Jewsbury then confesses her love for Cushman and begs to not be forgotten. Eliza Cook and Cushman's sister Susan Muspratt are mentioned as Jewsbury's friends as well.

[3441] "Dearest Charlotte – I have done I think all you have left for me to do – & I wish it had been as much more – I have paid a sovereign & sixpence above all you left for me to make myself straight with Frank [?] I called for the gloves & she made them +++ but on looking +++ now I only find I will call as I go home – I am in awful spirit. The house is dismal +++ +++ +++  the matter I have had an awful sitting. He is dreadfully vexed at me & I can do nothing right. +++ my darling love me as long as you can & as you can for I am superstitious about my friends & if I lose one it wd be a breaking[?] of the magic ring. I feel as if I had not spoken & +++ +++ all I have to say but one must take one's friends +++ +++ & never expect to get one appetites staid so I am looking out for you and E.[Eliza] Cooke.

Tell Susan with my love she shall have the next of "Marie"[?] soon – take care of yourself and let me hear that you are better then when you left us – love me & believe that I love you a great deal more
