Description
Mary Devlin Booth writes to Emma Cushman about her health, exercise, her baby, their life in London, their cottage, her request for news of Boston, and other matters. Mary Booth mentions her precious friendship with Charlotte Cushman and her deep sympathy for the actress. Mary mentions Emma's "misfortune last spring" (page 2). Apparently, Emma asked Mary what to expect when giving birth in a former letter. Mary recommends outdoor exercise, tells Emma about problems with her breasts since she was not able to nurse her daughter. Mary calls the child that Emma is expecting "little Charlotte" (page 4). She is glad to hear that Charlotte Cushman is in better health (page 6) and mentions Miss Field and the London exhibition.
