[2935] Dear friend — whether in Jerusalem or in Babylon.
I am only writing at midnight of this Wednesday, to say that I will get up to you on Saturday: Friday being shut up alas! by my engagements among the devils: [illegible crossed out] not [inserted] they who go down into the +++, however. – I wish you to keep the M. S. of Duchess Eleanor — & but [inserted] while
[2935 reverse] I will not embarrass you with in making any decision about it, I can't but say that I think it much the best that Mr. W. should not see it at a moment when he is professedly indifferent to new plays. The best anaonymous reality would stand to chance when a +++ work was hung up in prospect – But
[2936] we will talk of this & more on Saturday about 2 – Thanks for your memorandum. I thought it was so about the +++ 34 — but could not be sure — so much has happened to drive all Paris & its works out of key head[?] +++ +++ return — but I shall never forget that it
